What makes Der Waffen SS or Red Guards "Fanatics" rather than "Honourable Warriors" as Marines, Coldstream Guards and other organizations get credit for. What is the difference between Marines fighting at Iwo Jima and Red Guards fighting outside Moscow? What divides those who fought on the losing side from the winning side? Is it a reality that the organizations of Fascist Italy, Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan were truly filled with fanatics and evil men or were they men who were blinded by propoganda and fought for the wrong cause? I'd like your thoughts on these much disputed organizations.

However those condemned by the victors as evil and a disgrace to humanity (which is often well deserved) are remembered not as braves but fanatics for a wrong cause. Throughout history the elite formations of nations stick out above the rest.
